Microsoft Edge Browser Reportedly Testing Built-In Crypto Wallet

According to a tweet by user Albacore, Microsoft is testing a built-in cryptocurrency wallet in its Edge browser. The wallet is designed to be non-custodial, which means that users will have exclusive control over their funds and built-in security features to prevent unauthorized access. The purpose of the wallet is to simplify the user experience when interacting with the decentralized internet powered by blockchain technology known as Web3.

The user interface screenshots shared in the tweet show that the built-in crypto wallet will offer several benefits, including non-custodial control, meaning that users will have complete control of their funds, and easy integration into Edge without requiring users to install additional extensions. Microsoft is encouraging testers to provide candid feedback to help shape the development of the wallet as they seek to expand their presence in the cryptocurrency and non-fungible token (NFT) markets.

If the tweet is accurate, the development of the built-in crypto wallet in Edge could represent a significant step forward for Microsoft and the wider adoption of cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
